Punjab’s clean public transport initiative has entered a major expansion phase, with electric buses set to launch in 10 additional cities across the province. According to the government spokesperson, a fleet of 200 electric buses has already arrived, and Chief Minister Punjab will officially inaugurate the service on November 19. The new routes will begin operating in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujar Khan, Toba Tek Singh, and Jhang, along with Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and Bahawalpur.Officials noted that electric buses are already running successfully in Lahore and other cities, serving nearly 120,000 passengers daily. The initiative aims to reduce pollution, improve public mobility, and modernize urban transportation. More cities are expected to be added in upcoming phases.
