CDA Starts Possession of 8,600 Plots in I-15

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially begun handing over more than 8,600 developed plots in Islamabad’s long-delayed Sector I-15, marking a major breakthrough after nearly 20 years. At a ceremony held at Jinnah Convention Centre, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and DG NAB Waqar Ahmed Chauhan distributed over 200 possession letters to allottees. CDA confirmed that out of 10,200 total plots, developed plots worth Rs. 17 billion are now ready for possession. The sector was designed for low-income citizens, and its long-awaited completion addresses a critical housing gap in the capital. NAB played a key role in ensuring transparency and verification of rightful owners. CDA also announced reforms, including barcode allotment letters and proposals for escrow accounts to prevent financial misuse in housing societies.
