Smog continues to grip Punjab, with Lahore’s air quality remaining hazardous even on the weekend. The city recorded an overall AQI of 275, while several areas like Iqbal Town (517), Lower Mall (515), and FC College (466) crossed critical levels. Environmental experts warned residents to avoid unnecessary travel, wear masks, and limit outdoor activities in the morning. Meanwhile, a grand anti-smog operation is ongoing across the province. The Transport Department inspected 4,184 vehicles between November 1 and 8, issuing 877 challans, sealing 288 vehicles, and imposing Rs. 8 million in fines. Officials reported 255 FIRs and 208 arrests for smog violations, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy against polluting transport and factories.
