Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said construction and upgradation work is underway on the Karachi–Chaman National Highway (N-25), a major transport corridor connecting Karachi with several cities of Balochistan and the Chaman border. The federal government plans to transform the route into a high-standard, four-lane expressway to improve road safety, reduce travel time and strengthen interprovincial connectivity. The project is expected to support freight movement, regional trade and access to markets for communities along the highway. Official procurement records also show continued activity related to different sections of the N-25 project.
