Lahore: After continuous rainfall in the city, Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin visited several areas to review rainwater drainage operations and directed WASA teams to remain fully active in the field. The minister inspected drainage arrangements in the inner city, Islampura, Baba Ground, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Davis Road, and adjoining roads. WASA officers briefed him on rainwater clearance, available staff, machinery, and field operations. Bilal Yasin said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is personally monitoring rainfall, possible flood risks, and drainage conditions. He also announced cancellation of WASA officers’ leaves, directing them to supervise operations directly. Strong drainage response can reduce urban flooding, protect roads, support markets, and improve public safety. Can timely field action keep Lahore moving during heavy rain?
