Lahore: The Punjab Finance Department has released budget funds for major hospitals to support free medicines, cardiac treatment, and operational expenses. According to details, Rs. 597 million has been issued to Punjab Institute of Cardiology, while Rs. 1 billion has been released for Jinnah Institute of Cardiology and Rs. 1.30 billion for Jinnah Hospital. Officials say funds have also been provided to teaching hospitals, THQ hospitals, and other public health facilities across Punjab for medicines, operations, salaries, electricity and gas bills, transport, fuel, and other essential expenditures. The budget has been made online and transferred to hospital accounts for timely use. Can this funding improve patient care in public hospitals?
