Pakistan Increases Petrol by Rs5.44, Diesel by Rs31.05

The federal government has increased petrol and high-speed diesel prices for three days, citing higher global oil prices and import premiums following renewed regional tensions. Petrol has been raised by Rs5.44 per litre, taking the new price to Rs316.15, while high-speed diesel has increased by Rs31.05 per litre to Rs354.35. The revised rates came into effect on July 18 and will remain applicable until July 20. The government has also shifted toward more frequent fuel-price revisions, with Ogra expected to assess rates according to international market movements. Higher diesel prices may significantly affect freight, public transport, agriculture and electricity generation costs.
