Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to digitise all manual toll plazas across the province to improve transparency and eliminate overcharging and corruption. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Communications Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth, where officials reviewed toll collection systems. Authorities announced that M-Tag facility will be introduced at 41 toll plazas, enabling automated and transparent payments. The cash collection dashboard will also be upgraded to ensure proper monitoring and record keeping of all transactions. The minister directed strict action against officials involved in overcharging, including registration of cases. Infrastructure at toll plazas will also be modernised to align with advanced technological standards, ensuring efficient operations and better service delivery for commuters across Punjab.
