Lahore: The Punjab government has completed 60% construction work on the 93.6-kilometre Multan–Vehari dual carriageway project, with an estimated cost of Rs25 billion. The progress was reviewed in a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Communications & Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharath. Officials from the Highways Department briefed the minister on ongoing development activities.Earthwork, sub-base, overlay, carpeting, and road furniture installation are progressing rapidly. The minister directed authorities to maintain top construction quality and ensure timely completion. The project is expected to be finalized by June 2026.Officials termed the road a game-changer for South Punjab, particularly benefiting Multan, Khanewal, Vehari, and surrounding districts by improving connectivity, reducing travel time, and supporting regional economic growth.
