ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has come under investigation after around 240 plot files reportedly went missing, leaving genuine buyers unable to transfer or sell their properties. The plots were originally allotted against land compensation and later sold in the open market, but buyers were informed that no official records existed. Most irregular allotments reportedly occurred between 2013 and 2023. A CDA committee has traced only 43 cases so far, while a special committee including FIA and IB members has been formed to reconstruct records and fix responsibility. Authorities say strict legal action will be taken against negligent officials, while genuine buyers will be protected.
