Lahore: As Basant approaches, markets linked to kite flying have witnessed a massive surge in business activity across Lahore. Within just three days, sales of kites, strings, and spools reportedly reached Rs. 540 million. According to the Kite Association, over half a million kites were sold in a single day, reviving long-dormant commercial activity. Traders reported strong demand, extended market hours, and increased footfall, while kite manufacturing and related trades generated employment for thousands. Business circles expressed optimism, stating that if the current trend continues, sales volumes may rise further, delivering a positive boost to the local informal economy.
