FBR Seizes Bahria Town Tower in Karachi to Recover Rs. 26 Billion in Unpaid Taxes

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has seized Bahria Town Tower as part of its enforcement drive to recover Rs. 26 billion in unpaid taxes from Bahria Town. The action was taken on October 7 after raids and the collection of key financial records. The seized assets include 145 residential units, 42 offices, and 103 commercial shops, all placed under FBR custody. Authorities have barred any sale, transfer, or disposal of these properties without prior approval. FBR has directed that objections or claims be submitted to the Large Taxpayer Office (LTO) Islamabad under existing legal procedures. Officials say the move reflects a broader crackdown on major tax defaulters.
