LAHORE: Umar Town in Nishtar Town area is facing serious sewerage problems, with streets submerged in dirty sewage water and several manholes left uncovered, posing major safety risks. Stagnant water has led to the spread of mosquitoes, foul smell, and rising health concerns in the locality. Residents report that children face severe difficulty going to school as uniforms get soiled and the risk of diseases has increased. Daily life, including religious activities, is also affected due to waterlogged streets. Locals have appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice and urged authorities to immediately repair the sewerage system, rehabilitate streets, and cover open manholes to ensure public safety.
