Punjab Development Working Party Approves Rs 56 Billion for Major Projects

LAHORE: The Punjab Development Working Party has approved Rs 56 billion for various development schemes during its 62nd meeting for fiscal year 2025–26, held at the Planning and Development Board. The meeting was chaired by P&D Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf. Approved projects include Rs 1.6 billion for Chief Minister Punjab Value Addition Financing for pink salt, Rs 6 billion for emergency and OPD blocks at DG Khan Teaching Hospital, Rs 1 billion for MRI and CT scan procurement at Punjab Institute of Mental Health Lahore, and Rs 47 billion for the construction of the Rawalpindi Ring Road from Banth to Thalian. The forum also approved position papers for urban bus depots and related infrastructure, along with extensions for completion timelines of nine development schemes. Senior officials from the P&D Board and concerned departments attended the meeting.
