LDA Cracks Down on Illegal Commercial Use, Seals 134 Properties

LAHORE: On the directives of Director General LDA Tahir Farooq, the Lahore Development Authority’s Town Planning Wing carried out a citywide operation against illegal commercial buildings in LDA-controlled areas, sealing 134 properties. The enforcement drive was conducted in Gulberg, Faisal Town, Township, Samanabad, Allama Iqbal Town, Mustafa Town, and Naz Town. Officials said properties were sealed due to illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees. In Gulberg and Faisal Town, 19 properties were sealed, while 27 in Township, 31 in Samanabad, 22 in Allama Iqbal Town and Mustafa Town, and 35 in Naz Town were sealed during recovery operations. The sealed properties include private schools, clinics, pharmacies, colleges, academies, restaurants, cafés, food outlets, grocery stores, beauty salons, auto workshops, property offices, hardware and electrical stores, shops, and offices. The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner Asad-ul-Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali, with support from enforcement teams, LDA security, and police. Authorities said action against illegal commercial properties will continue without discrimination.
