ISLAMABAD: A total of 13 construction firms have submitted bids for a Rs. 3.58 billion road project after the Capital Development Authority eased its earlier strict eligibility criteria. The project involves construction of a 2.7-kilometer section of Margalla Avenue to link it with the Peshawar Motorway (M-1), along with an interchange on GT Road. Previously, strict fast-track conditions had limited participation in CDA projects, but the revised criteria attracted strong competition this time. Technical bids have been opened, while financial bids will be evaluated after technical clearance. CDA officials said higher participation is expected to ensure competitive pricing and better value for the authority.
