The Pakistan Railways Police recovered 506 acres of illegally occupied railway land worth Rs11.39 billion during 2025, marking a major crackdown on land encroachments. Officials registered 1,049 cases against land mafia and arrested 1,099 suspects across the country. The performance was reviewed in a meeting of divisional SPs chaired by PR Police Inspector General Rai Tahir at the Central Police Office, with representatives from Lahore, Karachi, Sukkur, Multan, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. During the year, PR Police registered 3,681 cases for various offences and arrested over 4,000 suspects. Operations also led to recoveries of stolen railway material, illegal weapons, narcotics, and lost passenger goods, while hundreds of missing children were reunited with their families.
