Required Documents

  • CSC Online Application Form (Program Category A) submitted via campuschina.org.
  • Local Nominating Authority Application Form (e.g., submitted via HEC portal in Pakistan).
  • Notarized copies of highest degree certificate (or official provisional certificate).
  • Notarized copies of official academic transcripts covering all previous study years.
  • Valid ordinary passport copy (first two pages with clear photo and personal details).
  • Identity documents including National ID Card (CNIC/B-Form) and Domicile Certificate.
  • IBCC or HEC Equivalence Certificates (where applicable).
  • Study Plan or Research Proposal in English or Chinese (minimum 200 words for Undergraduate, 800 words for Master’s, and 800 to 1,500 words for PhD).
  • Valid HAT test score for Master’s/PhD or USAT test score for Undergraduate applicants (minimum score of 50/100 required for Pakistani candidates).
  • China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) score report (for Undergraduate applicants).
  • Two original recommendation letters written and signed by full Professors or Associate Professors from previous academic institutions (for Master’s and PhD).
  • Proof of language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, English Medium of Instruction certificate, or HSK Chinese proficiency test score).
  • Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English, signed by a licensed physician with hospital stamp over photograph, alongside attached blood test reports (valid for 6 months).
  • Non-Criminal Record (Police Clearance Certificate) issued within 6 months prior to application deadline.
  • Pre-Admission Letter or Supervisor Acceptance Letter from a designated host Chinese university (optional but highly recommended to secure university placement).
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by current employer (if currently employed).
  • Legal guardian authorization documents (if applicant is under 18 years of age).

Application Steps

  • Contact your local dispatching authority (e.g., your home country’s Ministry of Education/HEC or the local Chinese Embassy) to confirm eligibility criteria, specific test requirements, and obtain their designated 5-digit Agency Number.
  • Submit an application on your home country’s national scholarship portal if required by the nominating authority.
  • Create an account on the official CSC portal (campuschina.org), select Program Category A, and enter the correct Agency Number of your dispatching authority/embassy.
  • Optionally contact Chinese host universities or professors to secure a Pre-Admission Letter or Acceptance Letter to attach to your profile to guarantee target placement.
  • Complete the online form, upload all required application documents (including notarized degrees/transcripts, study plan/research proposal, Foreigner Physical Examination Form, police clearance, and two recommendation letters), and submit the application.
  • Await evaluation, screening, or interview stages conducted by your home country’s nominating agency before shortlisted files are dispatched to the CSC in Beijing for final placement approval.
