Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed gas authorities to ensure improved supply for domestic consumers during the winter season. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik told the National Assembly that the prime minister has instructed gas companies to provide uninterrupted supply from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., aiming to ease difficulties faced by households during peak winter demand. He said gas load-shedding has decreased significantly compared to last year, though some areas continue to experience low pressure. Lawmakers were asked to report problem zones so the ministry can respond immediately. Malik revealed that 80,000–90,000 complaints were received in November, with 70–80% linked to OGRA’s jurisdiction, and most were resolved within 36 hours. He reiterated the government’s commitment to reliable winter gas service for consumers.
