Temperatures in northern Pakistan, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, are expected to drop further as cold continental winds intensify, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported. On Sunday, both cities recorded a minimum of 5°C, with even lower temperatures likely during nighttime in the coming days.
PMD officials warned that early mornings and nights will remain particularly cold, while most northern regions will experience harsh winter conditions.The Met Office added that shallow fog and smog may form in parts of Punjab, especially during morning and night hours, affecting visibility.Some of the lowest temperatures in the country were recorded in upper areas, including –8°C in Leh, –7°C in Skardu, –5°C in Gilgit, and –3°C in Babusar and Kalat.
