Smog and Fog to Disrupt Travel Across Pakistan in Coming Days

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that smog and dense fog will continue to disrupt travel across major parts of Pakistan in the coming days. The prolonged dry spell is worsening visibility, especially in Punjab’s plain regions, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Multan, and Sahiwal. Northeastern and southern districts are expected to experience the most intense smog during early morning and nighttime hours. KP cities such as Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, and DI Khan, as well as upper Sindh districts including Sukkur and Rohri, are also likely to face reduced visibility. The Met Office has advised motorists to drive cautiously, use fog lights, and avoid unnecessary travel. Authorities have also urged residents to wear masks due to poor air quality levels.
