Rawalpindi to Get a New Modern Hospital

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has approved the construction of a new hospital in the Jhanda Chichi area as part of a broader urban reorganization plan. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza, where officials also agreed to shift several major facilities to designated zones along the Ring Road. The new hospital aims to expand access to modern healthcare and reduce pressure on existing medical centers in Rawalpindi. The authority also decided to relocate wholesale fruit and vegetable markets, transport terminals, educational institutions, and industrial units to planned zones to ease congestion, reduce pollution, and better manage urban growth. RDA has directed relevant directorates to identify suitable sites along the Ring Road corridor and will establish dedicated health zones featuring hospitals, diagnostic centers, and medical stores to support long-term urban planning.
