Punjab Launches Electric Rickshaw Manufacturing Plant in Raiwind

Punjab has taken a major leap toward clean and sustainable transportation by launching an electric three-wheeler manufacturing plant in Raiwind. The facility was inaugurated by Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, who also inspected multiple stages of electric rickshaw production. The minister announced that Punjab’s new Electric Vehicle (EV) policy will be introduced soon, aimed at promoting locally manufactured EVs and reducing environmental pollution. He further shared that work is underway on an environment credit policy to support green industrial growth.The new electric rickshaw plant is expected to boost local manufacturing, create new jobs, and encourage affordable eco-friendly transport options across Punjab, marking an important step toward a cleaner, modern mobility ecosystem.
