Peshawar Ring Road Missing Link to Be Inaugurated in January 2026

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced that the long-delayed missing link of the Peshawar Ring Road will finally be inaugurated in January 2026, marking a major step in the city’s infrastructure expansion. Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi said the project is crucial for easing traffic congestion and supporting Peshawar’s rapid urban growth, especially as the city continues to absorb displaced populations from surrounding regions. Earlier, Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi launched a citywide beautification and infrastructure upgrade plan, including road rehabilitation, green spaces, improved lighting, and better traffic management. Officials also revealed that a comprehensive master plan for Peshawar is being prepared and visible improvements are expected by mid-2026.
