New Opening Date Set for Rawalpindi’s Kutchery Chowk Project

The Punjab government has set a new deadline for opening Rawalpindi’s Kutchery Chowk project to traffic, directing authorities to ensure timely completion. According to officials, the chowk will be opened to traffic by April 30, while structural work is expected to be completed before Eidul Fitr. An official from the Punjab Highway Department said more than 45 percent of the project has already been completed, with construction work being carried out round the clock by the Frontier Works Organisation. Guide beam and piling work at Kutchery Chowk and the Jinnah Park underpass has been completed, and about 95 percent of the retaining wall work is finished. Road construction is scheduled for completion in April, followed by landscaping and plantation work by PHA Rawalpindi.
