Karachi Green Line Common Corridor to Open on October 31, 2026

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced that the long-delayed Green Line Common Corridor is approaching completion, with the federal government setting October 31, 2026, as the official opening date. He acknowledged that residents faced months of inconvenience during construction but said the corridor will significantly improve travel and reduce congestion once operational. Wahab added that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation was initially not taken into confidence when the project began, but coordination between federal and city governments has now strengthened.The mayor also confirmed that all pending matters related to the Red Line BRT have been resolved and that formal construction work on the Red Line will begin in the coming days. He expressed hope that Karachi’s transport network will gradually improve through these major infrastructure upgrades.
