Jhelum Gets Electric Bus Service with Extended Timings for Students

The Punjab government has launched a modern electric bus service in Jhelum to provide affordable, eco-friendly, and reliable public transport for residents. Following its formal inauguration, the service will operate on special instructions of Maryam Nawaz from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, ensuring convenience for students, office workers, and the general public.The electric buses will run on three major routes, connecting key educational institutions, hospitals, residential areas, and commercial zones, including Fauji Foundation, Government colleges, Dina, Mangla, and Sanghoi. Officials said the initiative aims to reduce fuel dependency, lower emissions, and promote sustainable urban mobility. Equipped with onboard comfort features, the electric buses are expected to significantly improve daily commuting while supporting Punjab’s clean transport vision
