Feasibility Study Launched for Rawalpindi Ring Road Phase II

Rawalpindi has formally launched the feasibility study for Phase II of the Ring Road project as construction on Phase I approaches completion. The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has appointed a joint venture of NESPAK and ACE Pvt. Ltd. to conduct the study at a cost of Rs. 52 million. The consultants will assess the proposed route from Thalian to Sangjani, intended to connect the Ring Road with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza stated that the study will be completed within four months, with Phase II expected to begin in the next fiscal year once the Banth–Thalian section is finished. Officials said Phase II will link the remaining alignment toward CPEC and G.T. Road, with plans to develop an economic zone and acquire 500 meters of land on both sides to relocate transport terminals and major markets.
