Eswap Technologies Private Limited is looking for a hands-on Site Engineer to oversee day-to-day construction and installation activities at our project sites. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in solar (PV) systems or electrical engineering, is comfortable working on-site, and can coordinate effectively between contractors, vendors, and the project management team to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities, including civil, mechanical, and electrical installation work.

Review and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and technical specifications; ensure work executed on-site matches approved designs.

Monitor installation of solar PV modules, mounting structures, inverters, transformers, cabling, and balance-of-system (BOS) components (for solar-focused roles).

Oversee electrical wiring, panel installation, cable routing, earthing/grounding, and testing & commissioning activities (for electrical-focused roles).

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and installation of materials and equipment.

Conduct quality checks and inspections at each stage of construction/installation; maintain quality control (QC) documentation.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards; conduct toolbox talks and enforce safe work practices on-site.

Track project progress against the schedule; flag delays and propose corrective actions.

Maintain daily/weekly progress reports, site logs, and material reconciliation records.

Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover of completed systems.

Coordinate with the design/engineering team to resolve on-site technical issues and implement design changes as required.

Liaise with statutory bodies/utility representatives for approvals and inspections, where applicable.

Support procurement by verifying material quantities and quality upon delivery.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Mechanical/Civil considered with relevant site experience).

4+ years of relevant site engineering experience, preferably in solar power or electrical infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of electrical systems: cabling, transformers, switchgear, inverters, protection systems, and earthing.

Familiarity with solar PV system design and installation practices (module mounting, string sizing, DC/AC wiring) is a strong plus.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, SLDs, and layout plans.

Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, or local electrical/safety codes as applicable).

Proficiency in MS Office/MS Project; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under time pressure.

Good communication and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders on-site.

Willingness to work on-site/field locations, including outdoor conditions, and travel as required.
