Job Description
Communication and Works Department Government of the Punjab is inviting applications for the position of Manager Conservation under the Strategic Planning Unit SPU. The role focuses on conservation planning technical review and implementation support for heritage and historically significant public sector buildings ensuring preservation in line with approved conservation principles and government standards.
Responsibilities
Planning, designing of the heritage buildings which need conservation work.
Meeting with client regarding site and scope.
Preparation and presentation of conservation plan to the client for approval.
After approval issuance of drawing.
Selection and approval of different material to be used keeping in the view of the economy of the project.
Keeping Complete liaison with the client and the execution staff.
Updating the progress of work to senior manager architecture on regular basis.
Should be familiar with the SOP’s and requirement of producers, material man power required for the conservation work.
Mentioning and inspecting work under execution and advice corrective measure if any.
Visiting site regularly to ensure no breach for design / specification criteria.
Monitoring the progress of work using target plan as reference.
Ensure the planning & practice of maintenance after the completion of the project.
Any other duties assigned by the management.
Requirements
Minimum 16 years education in Architecture, Conservation or Civil Engineering
At least 8 years relevant post qualification experience
Proven experience in heritage conservation or restoration projects
Knowledge of conservation standards materials and methodologies
Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary technical and heritage teams
