Operating under the administrative control of the Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Department of the Government of Punjab, it serves as the primary custodian of the province’s natural heritage. It is a multidisciplinary environmental and regulatory body providing wildlife conservation, habitat management, species reintroduction, anti-poaching law enforcement, and the administration of national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and public recreation zoos across Punjab.
