The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is the apex federal body responsible for coordinating disaster risk management in Pakistan. Established under the National Disaster Management Act, it formulates national policies, guidelines, and plans for disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery.
NDMA works in coordination with provincial and district disaster management authorities, armed forces, and international partners to minimize disaster impacts. Its objective is to strengthen national resilience, ensure effective emergency response, and protect lives, livelihoods, and critical infrastructure across the country.
