The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) was established in 2003 by the Government of Balochistan under the GDA Act to plan, regulate, and manage the development of Gwadar city. The authority is responsible for urban planning, land use control, infrastructure development, and implementation of master plans to transform Gwadar into a modern port city. GDA plays a key role in facilitating public and private sector investments, supporting the Gwadar Port and CPEC-related projects, and ensuring sustainable urban growth. Its vision is to develop Gwadar as a regional economic hub with modern housing, transport, utilities, and civic infrastructure while promoting balanced and environmentally responsible development.
