RLNG Pipeline Project

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited 42 Inch RLNG 80 km Pipeline Project is a strategic gas transmission infrastructure initiative developed to transport Re Gasified Liquefied Natural Gas from LNG import terminals at Port Qasim to the national gas transmission network. The project involves construction of a high-pressure steel pipeline with a diameter of 42 inches and an approximate length of 80 km, running from HQ 3 Hyderabad to MVA Lundo in District Sanghar. This pipeline forms a critical link between RLNG re gasification facilities and downstream consumption points including power plants and industrial users.

The pipeline is designed to handle large volume RLNG flows under high operating pressure to meet increasing energy demand, particularly for power generation and large industrial consumers. The scope includes installation of mainline valves, cathodic protection systems, metering and control facilities, and integration with supervisory control and data acquisition systems for continuous monitoring and operational safety. The routing has been planned along utility and industrial corridors to reduce environmental and land acquisition impacts while complying with national and international pipeline safety standards.

This pipeline is a key component of Pakistan’s LNG supply chain and energy security framework, enabling efficient evacuation of imported LNG from coastal terminals to inland markets. By enhancing transmission capacity and operational flexibility, the project supports uninterrupted fuel supply to RLNG based power plants, helps mitigate winter gas shortages, and contributes to improved reliability of the national gas grid.
