The Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Expansion Project in Muzaffargarh is a major healthcare infrastructure initiative being executed by the Infrastructure Development Authority of the Punjab to strengthen public healthcare services in the region. Originally gifted by the Government of Türkiye, the hospital was established to provide free medical services to the local population. Located on DG Khan Road in Muzaffargarh, the hospital began operations in July 2014 with 60 beds, which were later increased by an additional 40 beds within the first 12 months.
Under the expansion project, IDAP is extending the facility into a 250-bed general hospital supported by modern medical infrastructure and advanced healthcare technologies. The master plan includes development of a teaching hospital, medical college, nursing college and associated amenities on approximately 113 acres of land adjacent to the existing hospital. In Phase I, a new hospital building and an energy center have been constructed. The new hospital building has a covered area of 354,000 sq ft and is designed with architecture reflecting local colors and climate, complemented by landscaped green areas for patient comfort.
