The Punjab Cities Programme PCP is a provincial initiative designed to improve urban management, strengthen municipal services and enhance the overall livability of secondary cities in Punjab. The program focuses on helping local governments deliver better services through upgraded infrastructure, improved planning systems and modern governance practices. It aims to build cleaner, safer and more organized urban environments that support sustainable growth.
The programme includes capacity building of municipal committees, development of integrated city planning tools, improvement of water supply and sanitation systems, upgrading of roads and street networks, enhancement of public spaces and strengthening of waste management services. Digital systems, performance-based grants and community engagement activities are also introduced to ensure transparent decision making and efficient delivery of public services.
