Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre is a major healthcare and research facility in Lahore developed as an 820-bed charity project. The institute is designed as a state-of-the-art center of excellence for clinical care, teaching and research in kidney, liver and bladder diseases, including kidney and liver failure treated through transplantation. The project aims to provide free medical services to financially underprivileged patients while also creating employment opportunities for more than 5,000 people, including doctors, nurses and paramedics.
The institute is developed on 50 acres of land in Lahore Knowledge City, located between DHA Phase 6 and Bedian Road. The facility is planned to be expandable up to 1,500 beds and includes a 100-bed emergency center, 100 bed intensive care unit, 100 bed outpatient dialysis facility, 500 bed inpatient facility, 20 operating rooms and 10 same day surgery suites. The project also includes a Hepatitis Prevention and Treatment Program clinic based on a steel frame structure, which has been completed and handed over to the client.
