The Faisal Avenue Underpass is a major transport infrastructure project designed to improve traffic flow along one of Islamabad’s busiest corridors. The underpass allows uninterrupted movement for vehicles traveling along Faisal Avenue while reducing congestion at the intersection with Sector G7 and G8. The project supports smoother mobility for daily commuters and enhances connectivity between central city areas and surrounding sectors.
The development includes construction of an underpass structure, improved road geometry, upgraded drainage systems, installation of street lighting, pedestrian facilities and traffic management features. By separating through traffic from local intersection movements, the underpass shortens travel time, enhances safety and reduces bottlenecks during peak hours. It also provides better access to nearby markets, public institutions and residential communities.
