7th Avenue Interchange

Capital Development Authority

The 7th Avenue Interchange is a major infrastructure development in Islamabad designed to improve traffic flow between 7th Avenue, Srinagar Highway, Garden Avenue and nearby sectors. The interchange provides grade separated movement for vehicles traveling through one of the city’s busiest intersections, reducing congestion and ensuring safer and faster travel for commuters. Its development supports smoother connectivity between central Islamabad and surrounding residential and institutional areas.

The project includes a multi-level interchange structure with loop ramps, elevated sections, improved road geometry, drainage upgrades, lighting systems and modern traffic management features. By eliminating signal-based merging and crossing, the interchange reduces delays, enhances safety and supports efficient movement for both local and through traffic. It also improves access to Blue Area, Constitution Avenue, diplomatic missions and major public offices.

The project has been developed under the guidance of the Capital Development Authority with a focus on durable engineering, long term traffic needs and organized urban growth. The interchange now plays an important role in strengthening Islamabad’s road network and improving mobility across the city.
