The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) traces its origins to Jamia Abbasia founded in 1925 and was formally chartered as a public sector university in 1975 by the Government of Punjab. Over the decades, IUB has evolved into a major multidisciplinary institution in southern Punjab, offering a wide spectrum of programs across arts, sciences, business, law, agriculture, engineering, health and veterinary sciences.
