CDA, IFC Partner to Upgrade Islamabad’s Water & Sewerage Services

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have signed a public-private partnership (PPP) agreement to support Islamabad Water Agency’s water and sewerage projects. Under the agreement, IFC will provide technical advisory services for three approved projects aimed at improving water supply, installing water meters, reducing non-revenue water, enhancing energy efficiency of pumping systems, and rehabilitating sewerage lines and treatment plants. Officials said the initiative will strengthen monitoring, cut losses, ensure clean water for residents, and boost CDA revenues to be reinvested in city services.
