The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a strict show-cause notice to Bahria Town (Pvt) Ltd, directing the developer to transfer 487.92 kanals of public land — including amenity plots, roads, and parking areas — within 10 days.CDA stated that Bahria Town repeatedly ignored official reminders throughout 2025, despite being legally bound under the CDA Ordinance 1960, ICT Zoning Regulations 1992, and Private Scheme Regulations 2023 to hand over all public-use areas.Multiple Islamabad High Court rulings (2017, 2018, 2025) also mandate strict enforcement and prohibit withholding or altering land reserved for public use.The notice highlights that layout plans for Bahria Paradise Commercial Schemes I–IV (893.91 kanals) were approved on the condition that all public building plots be transferred free of cost — but 306.9 kanals of amenity land and 181.02 kanals of roads/parking remain untransferred.Failure to comply may lead to NAB/FIA action, blocking access, suspending approvals, selling mortgaged plots, sealing offices, and demolishing unauthorized structures.CDA says this action is intended to protect public rights and prevent misuse of land meant for community facilities.
