The Punjab Communication and Works Department will begin construction in January on three major underpasses along Peshawar Road, aiming to create a fully signal-free corridor from Ammar Chowk to Motorway Chowk. The Rs. 8 billion project will be executed by the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), which is already working on the Kutchery Chowk remodeling. According to officials, underpasses at Race Course Park Square, Army Graveyard Square, and Chairing Cross will break ground in January, with traffic police instructed to finalize diversion plans by the end of December. The government expects the project to be completed within three months. These underpasses are part of a larger Rs. 30 billion corridor plan, alongside works at Kutchery Chowk, GPO Chowk, and a proposed flyover at Ammar Chowk costing Rs. 3.45 billion.
