The Punjab Planning and Development Board has approved Rs. 105 billion for major development schemes during the 48th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for the fiscal year 2025–26. Chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf, the session cleared significant projects across multiple sectors. These include Rs. 5 billion for improving agricultural research in Punjab and seed money of Rs. 100 billion for establishing a mass transit system in Faisalabad. The meeting also approved position papers for Business Facilitation Centers in Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Gujrat, and Sargodha, along with the creation of new posts for these centers. Additionally, the Industries Department received approval for technical assistance, third-party validation, and digital mapping of new infrastructure, including design and feasibility tasks. Senior officials and board members attended the meeting.
