The Punjab government has enforced the Immovable Property Protection Ordinance 2025 to introduce a faster, transparent, and fair system for resolving land-related disputes. Under the new framework, all property conflicts will be decided within 90 days, significantly reducing delays that previously enabled land grabbers to exploit loopholes. The ordinance introduces digital verification, transparent land records, and an online complaint registration portal to ensure accountability. Special tribunals have been granted civil and session court powers to expedite hearings and deliver enforceable judgments. Additionally, district-level committees will mediate and resolve disputes through a structured process. The government says the new system aims to curb the influence of land mafias, protect genuine owners, and modernize property governance across Punjab.
