Deadline Announced to Restore Traffic on Major Motorway

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan inspected the flood-damaged section of the M-5 Motorway near Jalalpur Pirwala to review repair and restoration efforts. He directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to restore one-way traffic by November 30 and emphasized minimizing public inconvenience. During the visit, he evaluated the quality of rehabilitation work and warned that no substandard construction will be tolerated. The minister ordered a detailed progress report within one week and announced he would conduct a follow-up inspection. He also reviewed rest houses and roadside facilities along the corridor, expressing dissatisfaction with their poor condition. Khan instructed officials to ensure clean restrooms, functional tuck shops, and properly maintained traveler services, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to restoring full motorway operations quickly.
