Islamabad’s Shaheen Chowk Underpass Achieves Major Construction Milestone

The Shaheen Chowk Underpass project in Islamabad has achieved significant construction progress, according to officials who briefed CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa during his Sunday site visit. Engineers confirmed that 80% of the barrel wall structure has been completed, 60% of Ramp One walls are finished, and the girder work for the barrel is fully done. Work on earth filling, road surfacing, and Ramp Two walls is ongoing round the clock. Chairman Randhawa expressed satisfaction and instructed teams to maintain strict quality standards, with special focus on landscaping, digital boards, and LED lighting to enhance the project’s aesthetics. Once completed, the underpass will provide a signal-free route for commuters and students, easing congestion in one of Islamabad’s busiest corridors
