70% Work Done: Ring Road to Complete by March 2026

The Punjab government has revised the PC-I of the Rawalpindi Ring Road, increasing the project cost from Rs. 33 billion to Rs. 50 billion after approving a major redesign of the Thallian Interchange to support future motorway traffic. According to the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), nearly 70% of construction is complete, including major road carpeting, embankments, and bridge structures along the 38.3-km corridor from Banth to Thallian.The project’s completion date has now shifted from December 2025 to March 2026, as the expansion of the interchange required significant structural changes. RDA DG Kinza Murtaza said the Ring Road will act as a transformative economic corridor, supporting future transport terminals, logistics hubs, economic zones, and market facilities across the Rawalpindi Division.
