Govt Approves Expansion of Toll System Across KP

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to establish new toll plazas across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aiming to boost revenue collection on highways and motorways. During a detailed briefing, officials updated the minister on routine maintenance, periodic work, and outstanding financial liabilities within the ministry. The minister instructed that the KP chief minister and chief secretary be taken into confidence before finalizing locations for the new toll points. He said the revenue generated will be reinvested directly into KP’s road network, supporting development, maintenance, and upgrades, especially as tourism-related traffic continues to increase. The minister also ordered strict physical verification of all projects with outstanding dues above one crore rupees, ensuring transparency before releasing payments.
