Work Speeds Up on Rawalpindi Signal-Free Corridor

Rawalpindi’s signal-free corridor project is moving ahead rapidly, with significant progress reported across three major intersections — Jinnah Park, Kachehri Chowk, and Iftikhar Janjua Chowk. According to a review meeting chaired by Commissioner Aamir Khattak, 80% of piling on the Jinnah Park flyover and 10% on its underpass are complete. At Kachehri Chowk, 28% piling and 32% girder work on the flyover are finished, while 17% piling has been completed on the underpass.
Guide beam work is completed at Iftikhar Janjua Chowk, with drilling underway. The commissioner emphasized transparency, environmental standards, and timely execution, confirming that released funds have been used as planned. He also instructed FWO to accelerate underpass construction to improve traffic flow between Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
